Breaking Dawn SPOILERS UNDER CUT!!!

I finally finished Breaking Dawn this evening.
I have mixed emotions.  Overall I really enjoyed the book, and I think anyone who has read the other three books should read the final one no matter what they hear about it.  Breaking Dawn will never be my favorite book in the Twilight Saga, but it's a good read that kept me pretty well glued to the book.

So there you have it.
Now I need to get back to work on my own novel.  ::sigh::

A letter to Hammy
 Dear Hammy,

You suck for getting me hooked on these stupid books!! ;)  I finished Twilight last night and started New Moon.  I hate it so far.  I mean, I don't but I do! :P  The second book in any series usually pisses me off, but DAMN!!!

And on top of all that, you're the only person I know who has read the books!  We need to talk.  Soon!!!

Love,
Aud

Okay. I give.

After seeing all the facebook flair and talking to Hammy, I'm reading Twilight by Stephenie Meyer.  You know, the book that is supposed to be the next best thing to a new Harry Potter book?

I'm only on page 91, but I like it.  At first I found it obnoxiously mediocre.  Now it's getting pretty good.  I find it interesting that it's written in the first person, which is fairly odd for any fiction and really odd for fantasy/sci-fi.  I tend to be fond of books written in first person.  I don't know if this is because the first fantasy books I fell in love with were written that way, or if it's because I find it so much easier to write fiction from the first person point of view.  /book geek

Sooo yeah.  Looks like the reservations job at the RR is going to be more permanent than I thought.  Janet had the day off, so Char had me on the phone for the first time today.  Until now I've just been doing data entry and mailing tickets - office monkey stuff.  It was scary as all shit.  The schedule is fucking ridiculous to try and remember, so I had a dozen cheat sheets.  Everyone said I did a good job, but I feel like I was really really slow.  I realize I need to learn how to multitask professionally (anyone who's talked to me while I'm on the computer knows I don't do so good with the typing and talking at the same time!) but I still feel like a failure - no matter what people say.

Not much else has been going on.  We're probably not going to be able to go on vacation now.  I bought a book to get my stupid goddamned novel organized.  We're still getting along really well with Nikki, and we have some "pet" squirrels that love living in our back yard.  We feed them peanuts - or at least we were until a hawk showed up in the neighborhood.  We didn't want to accidentally lure the squirrels out to be a hawk snack. :P

OH MY GOD, THAT DOUCHE SUEDE NEEDS TO STOP TALKING IN THE 3rd PERSON!!!!!!!!

Oooh yeah!

Now I remember why I stopped going to the official BNL message board, oh, five years ago.  It's full of fuckwits and morons who don't actually know shit about the band.  Oh... and it's crawling with trolls - whether they're "fans" or not.

Anywho... I somehow ended up working at the railroad again.  Mom called yesterday morning asking if I wanted to come in and help in the office for the afternoon.  I said no problem.  Then they want me in today and next week... and possibly for months to come.  Uh... okay.  Lord and Lady know we could use the moolah.

So I'ma hit the road to work.  I've gotta get ahold of a big back of dicks to leave around the office so the boss can choke on it. ;)

Hope you all are doing well.

Well... the pneumonia is gone, and my three-day headache is finally gone too.

Nikki and I have appointments to get haircuts and dye jobs. I'll post a picture tomorrow. :)

Thomas the @(@#!ing Tank Engine is looming nearer and nearer. I hate Thomas. It sucks up all of Chad's time, turns Mom into a raving bitch half the time, and nearly drives Ron to homicide. And somehow the boss at the RR has made the event suck harder.

Otherwise there's not much going on with me. I really want to go on the BNL cruise next year, but I doubt we're going to be able to afford it. I probably won't be going back to work for another couple of months, even if I don't go back to the candy store. Chad and I have agreed that I need to be in much better health before I go back to work - that way I'm not constantly missing work. Ugh.

I hope you all are doing well. :)

Oh good. A rash.
I was on a bunch of steriods for the asthma/pneumonia which made me look and feel like Jabba the Hutt. (It wouldn't be that bad, but the tail is concerning! ;) ) Now I'm back to just my rescue inhaler and my daily inhaler. Still steriods, but it's a lot fewer than before (and WAY fewer than most MLB players).

But now I have a mystery rash all across my face. It's kind of like a cross between a bad breakout and fuck knows what. It doesn't really itch, but it does hurt. I doubt it's meds considering I'm on fewer than I was before, and it can't be a photosensitivity thing because I haven't been out in the sun. I'm still on antibiotics for the pneumonia, but I've never had a problem with Z-packs before - including the one I was put on a week and a half ago when I went to the ER. It also can't be my face wash. I've been using the same stuff for well over a year and it's hypoallergenic. I had craploads of blood work done less than two months ago and everything was normal except for my tiny blood cells.

We've adjusted to having Nikki as a roomie. We're all getting along well and the cats simply adore having aunt Nikki living here. Her mad organization skillz have inspired me to try and get this place organized. I bought some more storage containers at Target a week or so ago, but I've yet to feel well enough to actually get anything done. I'm really hoping tomorrow I can get a good start.

My cousin's "wake" was exactly what I want when I bite the big one - fried chicken, beer, and a lot of laughter. There was a nice display of a bunch of photos of Donnie and a note saying where his ashes are going to be spread. We got to see several of our cousins who we hadn't seen in years. I just wish those folks would come around more often than just when a family member dies.
